FAQ's
Q. Who carries out the wedding photography?
A. We have a small team of local photographers who are qualified members of the British Institute of Professional Photography and /or The Master Photographers Associasson. You will have a consultation with your chosen photographer prior to booking the date.
Q. Do the photographers working for Wiltshire weddings, carry out weddings for their own business?
A. Some of them do, but generally, they hold other photographic jobs and cannot afford the time dedicated to the admin side of running a wedding photography business. With our support and admistration, they have the best of both worlds!
Q. Would it not be more cost effective to book the photographer direct?
A. No! Our photographers generally charge alot more for individual wedding contracts and it is only through our own services, that we are able to keep costs lower.
Q. What happens if our photographer is unable to photograph our wedding due to illness?
A. It will be the responsibility of David McGirr to arrange a suitably qualified photographer, who will also be a fully qualified member of the MPA or BIPP. If David McGrr is available, then he will be the primary reserve.
.Q. What quality of albums and materials are available to us?
A. We have a fantastic range especially selected for Wiltshire Weddings. The Albums are of a very good quality and available in a variety of different colours and materials.
Q. Do we have to have an album?
A. No. your photographs can be presented in a presentation box or on DVD.
Q. Who is our main point of contact?
A. Your main point of contact will be through David McGirr Photography, who will look after the administration and post production, but your own allocated photographer will cover most matters, as they will be covering your day.
Q. Can we view our photos online?
A. Yes, but there will be a small administration charge of £35. Photographs will be displayed for a period of 2 months.
Q. How soon do we see our photographs and album?
A. Your proofs will be ready for collection 2-3 weeks after the wedding. Once you have made your selection and chosen your album, we will have everything completed within 5 weeks maximum.
Q. Can we have a disc with our images so that we can print our own?
A. The Copyright of the photographs remains with Wiltshire Weddings and David McGirr Photgraphy, unless you opt for a DVD collection. With The DVD Collections, all images are supplied as high res JPG files.
Q. Can you provide a video?
A. We do not provide a video service ourselves, but please see our links for our recommended videographers.
Q. What are the benefits of using Wiltshire weddings for our photography?
A. Quality products, imaginative photography, competitive pricing….we could go on, but the main benefit is the links to David McGirr Photography, and the knowledge that he will play a part in the overall service you get. David is highly regarded in the world of wedding photography and his experience and guidance invaluable.
Q. What is the connection between Wiltshire Weddings & David McGirr Photography?
A. Wiltshire Weddings has been established by David so that he can cater for the wedding photography that he normally would not be able to do. When couples appoint David McGirr Photography for weddings, they are enlisting the services of David McGirr personally. We feel it is unfair to promote weddings directly under the “David McGirr Photography“ banner which he will not be directly photographing. In this way, we can differentiate between the services and leave clients in no doubt as to which area they select.
Q. Why do the prices differ so much between Wiltshire Weddings & David McGirr Photography?
A. David only photographs select weddings throughout the year and uses the very best of materials, generally travels further and provides a much more detailed coverage and intimate level of service. David's albums are sourced from the very best manufactures in Australia and Italy, whereas, Wiltshire weddings sources them from the UK. You can visit David’s website at www.davidmcgirr.com
